The Experiments Department

The Experiments Department is the central department at Ihinger Hof Agricultural Experiment Station.
In addition to technical personnel, the department offers special machinery and device chains for designing and conducting complex field experiments as well as facilities for drying, cleaning and storing.
All of this is made available to experimenters (students, doctoral candidates, professors).
The field experiments are planned and conducted in close collaboration between the experimenters and the technicians at Ihinger Hof. Every year, a large number of precision experiments are performed. Using customized experimental equipment, the plots are sown, fertilized, treated with pesticides and harvested.
Today, the Experiments Departments also uses GPS technology (for measuring plots, guidance, sowing or applying pesticides).

In addition to the precision experiments, large-scale trials are conducted on large plots of arable land. This is done in close collaboration with the Operations Department.
